Perillo unveils new Italy tours for 2024

Perillo Tours is expanding its offerings in central and southern Italy with new 2024 itineraries.

Perillo will have three new itineraries departing from Rome, taking guests on escorted tours of Umbria, Tuscany or Campania and Puglia. The itineraries range between nine and 12 days and will focus on showcasing art, cuisine, history and culture. 

The 11-day Green Heart of Italy itinerary will explore the famous sites, hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path towns and attractions of Umbria -- known as Italy's Green Heart for its mountains and hillsides covered in lush vegetation and swaths of greenspace. 

The itinerary begins in Rome with a tour of the ancient city's historical sites before moving on to visit the hilltop town of Spoleto and the medieval town of Gubbio, followd by a cruise on Lake Trasimeno. Guests will then visit the Tuscan countryside where they will visit local wine and olive oil producers, go on truffle hunts and participate in hands-on cooking classes. Prices begin at $3,795 per person and departures will run from April through October. 

The nine-day Renaissance Tour 2024 itinerary will focus on Italy's renowned Renaissance period and the great artworks that were produced by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and other old masters during that period.

The itinerary begins in Rome and continues onto Florence, where guests visit the Piazza della Signoria and Santa Croche Church and visit Michelangelo's final resting place.

The Renaissance Tour will conclude in Chianti, where guests can take up truffle hunting and wine and olive oil tastings. Prices start at $4,225 per person. Tours will run from March through October.

Lastly, there's the 12-day Best of Southern Italy tour, which will focus on Campania and Puglia. The itinerary starts in Rome, with visits to the Colosseum, the Forum and Vatican City before heading off to Naples. There, guests will visit the preserved city of Pompeii in addition to experiencing the culture of Naples, including joining a pizza-making class to learn how to make Neapolitan pizza. Guests will visit the ancient city of Matera as well as Bari and the town of Lecce, known as the Florence of the South. 

Prices for the Best of Southern Italy tour start at $3,795 per person and run from March through October.
